Conversational query
Conversational Query
One sentence of definition, and how it differs from the concepts it gets confused with. The definition is written to be quoted as it stands.
DEFINITION
A conversational query is a question asked as a sentence rather than as keywords — for example, "which marketing agency in Gwangju is any good?" A keyword needs a landing page; a question needs an answer.
Easily confused with
It does not mean turning keywords into sentences
Putting a question in the heading and actually answering it are different. Change only the heading and leave the structure as it was, and there is no paragraph to cut out, so nothing gets cited.
Do not build a page per query variant
Churning out thin pages for each phrasing of the same intent violates spam policy and makes the pages cannibalise each other. One page answering one subject deeply is the right shape.
In practice
- When measuring, repeat across several paraphrases of the same intent — a different phrasing can change the answer and the brands that appear.
- Split questions by type — informational, vendor search, comparison, purchase decision. Each type needs a different answering document.
