GLOSSARY
Entity
One sentence of definition, and how it differs from the concepts it gets confused with. The definition is written to be quoted as it stands.
DEFINITION
An entity is a single subject — a company, person or product — as recognised by search engines and AI. When the same company is written with different names and details across channels, it scatters into separate entities and the brand signal weakens.
Easily confused with
It is not a keyword
A keyword is a string; an entity is a subject. 나비랑 and 주식회사 나비랑 are different strings that have to be the same entity. Entity work is making machines draw that connection.
It does not mean unifying the name to one form
It means settling one canonical notation and declaring the other forms in use as other names for the same thing. Erasing notations already accumulated externally is impossible, and unnecessary.
In practice
- Start by checking whether company name, address, main phone number and service description hold the same values on every channel.
- Connect official channels through structured data sameAs — but only channels whose ownership is confirmed. A URL that does not exist breaks the merge instead of helping it.
